The legal body that regulates the Superintendence of Casinos and the casino operators are established in Act N°19.995, its set of Regulation contained in the Supreme Decrees No. 211, 287, 329 and 547 of the Ministry of Finance and in the instructions furnished by the Superintendence as supervising agency of the industry.

Act N°19.995 creates the Superintendence of Casinos and sets forth basic guidelines for the approval, operation and supervision of casino gaming in Chile.

Meanwhile, provisions of Act N°19.995 regulate in detail a variety of aspects of the Law. These are: Supreme Decree No. 211, that comprises rules to process and award operation permits to casinos; Supreme Decree No. 287, that comprises Regulation for operation and supervision of casinos; Supreme Decree No. 329, that comprises the bylaws of the Gaming Control Board of the Superintendence of Casinos; and Supreme Decree N°547, that comprises gambling Regulation for casinos and a standardization system.

Instructions given by the Superintendence of Casinos are contained in circular letters,official letters and game catalogs. Besides, the Superintendence of Casinos uses internal circular letters to communicate instructions to agency officials.
